Terraform diagram generator

Turn your Terraform into a diagram.

LetDraw is a Terraform diagram generator: paste your .tf files and get every resource, module, variable and output drawn with the references between them. Resources are grouped by provider, and AWS, Azure and GCP icons are one click away. What you get is an editable diagram, not a static picture.

Infrastructure as code diagrams that stay editable

LetDraw reads the resource, data, module, variable and output blocks in your HCL and turns references such as aws_vpc.main.id, var.region or depends_on into arrows. Each resource becomes a card with its type, its name and a couple of key settings, and arrows are labelled with the attribute that made the link.

  • Grouped by provider, with modules, variables and outputs in their own frames
  • Add icons stamps AWS, Azure and GCP product icons onto the boxes
  • Drift vs last compares with your previous import: added in green, removed in red

What people draw

Where a Terraform diagram generator helps

The same paste works for a single module and for a whole environment spread across providers.

Architecture reviews

Show reviewers what the code actually builds instead of walking them through file after file.

Onboarding engineers

Give new teammates one picture of the networks, databases and services an environment is made of.

Change reviews

Paste the new version and switch on Drift vs last to see which resources and links were added or removed.

Living documentation

Regenerate the diagram when the code changes and export it as SVG for your wiki or README.

Multi-cloud setups

AWS, Azure and GCP resources land in separate provider groups, so a mixed estate stays readable.

Dependency checks

See which resources read a variable or a module output before you rename or remove it.

Questions

Terraform diagram FAQ

Is LetDraw's Terraform diagram generator free?
Generate from Code, which turns your .tf files into a diagram, is included in Pro. Drawing by hand, templates, shape libraries and export to PNG, SVG and PDF are free on the Free plan, with no credit card.
Do I need a plan file or state?
No. LetDraw reads the HCL text of your .tf files (Terraform or OpenTofu) and draws the declared blocks and the references between them. Nothing runs against your cloud account.
Which clouds get product icons?
With Add icons switched on, AWS, Azure and GCP resources get matching product icons. Resources from other providers are still drawn as labelled cards in their own provider group.
Can I edit the diagram after it is generated?
Yes. It is inserted as ordinary shapes, arrows and frames, so you can move, restyle and annotate it, edit it together in real time, and export it as PNG, SVG or PDF.
